What Makes A Good Film Poster

So what does make a good film poster?

Well i think it is the feeling of it all flowing, also it will have to have a list of actors.
Another thing will be a good eye popping title, as well as a interesting picture in the background, it also has to look professional, such as writing style and the colours.

Must be included:

Pirates 4 poster
  • Credit block
  • Important features
  • Blending Images
  • Look professional
  • Relating Colours
  • Colours related to the genre

Current Affairs- Violent Video Games make you violent and lazy?

Violent: A study has found that key areas in the brain suffer reduced activity, and leave it physically altered after exposure to violent video gamesThis post is on how people think that violent video games make the young youth of today also violent and lazy.

'Violent video games can alter the brain in just one week and make players more aggressive, according to researchers.

A study has found that key areas in the brain suffer reduced activity, and leave it physically altered.

The findings will fuel the debate over the impact that violent games have on regular players and links to anti-social behavior.'

This article was taken from '
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2066803/Violent-video-games-DO-make-people-aggressive.html'

This article is basically saying that these violent video games such as Grand Theft Auto alter the brain to make youths who play it more aggressive.

I do not agree with this because as I am a gamer i think the reality of these games are ridiculous, they are nothing like real life, any educated youth can see this, but i do slightly agree with the accusation that these games make you lazy, i agree because some people would get into the game a bit to much sitting there for hours just playing the same game.

This article agrees with me that they don't make people aggressive.

'Just look at me. I'm a 13 year old geek who has never beaten any one up, I don't swear(much), I have good grades (Acedemic awards galore), I study computer programming and build robots in my spare time, etc., etc.. And when I'm not doing any of these things, I'm playing an EXTREMELY violent game (Total Annihilation, Half-Life, Worms Armageddon, and Diablo are among my favourites.) I think that violent games calm me down when I'm angry rather than MaKe me angry. I just imagine my enemies inside that Arm Commander suit, and then I blow it away. All of a sudden, I feel as if they really were gone, and with them, my troubles. It feels good, so I wake myself out of my reverie and try and make my problems go away (without the killing. That would just give me bigger problems in real life.).'

My Film Idea - First Draft

Genre Of Film:
My Film is going to be in the genre of Romance.

Age Rating:

The age rating for my film is going to be a 15 just for the reason that there may be sexual scenes in it that would not be suitable for a 12 year old.

Target Audience:

My target audience will be aged between 31-45 women and men, this would be a good age group because the film is set in the 80's. It would be ideal if they like the 80's movies like Grease.

Location/Setting:

It will be mostly set in the suburbs, like a proper 80's setting.

Beginning:

The beginning will be at a party, where two eyes meet (boy and girl) they try to get to each other but are being pulled away by other people. The party ends as police send everyone away. The boy spends the whole year talking about this one girl.

Middle:

The middle is a year later when another party occurs, the boy is speaking with a girl and the other girl gets jealous, so she jumps on the table and starts stripping, this catches the eye of the boy, he is intrigued by this but also disgusted, he walks out, but the girl follows, she starts speaking whilst another boy comes out and says 'Hey babe come with me', so she follows leaving the boy in the rain.

End:

The boy that spent a whole year trying to chase a girl leaves it and becomes super successful, and gets a super model girlfriend, he is still unhappy that he doesn't have his teenage sweat heart. The Boy and girl meet once again at a business party. They meet and just when there lips meet the film ends, leading on to a sequel

Name: Love isn't all good...

Conventions of an Action Movie

Some Conventions of a action will be:
It will have to have A LOT of explosions and guns because that's what most people look for in an action movie, so the colours will include red and bright colours. The Setting that would fit in would be town or a busy city such as London or New York. Essential Props would be bombs and guns because without these it would not be an action movie. Actors that would star in the movie would be, Jason Stratham, one of my favorite actors. Another thing that is essential, is a beautiful character for the main character to look after :), examples of films that are great, are Die Hard 4.0 and also The Bourne Ultimatum.

Different Film Marketing Methods And What They Are Suitable For

The Marketing methods i can remember from today are Viral, books, film websites, posters, merchandise, trailers, toys, video games and documentaries.
Today i learned that some film marketing methods are suited to particular audiences. For example: Creating a IPhone app for a Film is best suited to a film whose audience is 12+ because that age group would have phones and will be interested in that. Also creating a toy for a film is best suited for a film whose audience is a young age up to 12 because the children will enjoy the toy and therefore enjoy the movie because the toy in there hands is on the big screen.
Today i learned that some film marketing methods are suited to a particular genre of film. For Example: Having a book for a film is best suited to a film which is from the romance genre because they can compare the difference between the book and the film to see what is better.
Having a Trailer for a film is the best suited to a film which is from the horror genre because if it is first person it feels like you are actually the character.

Other Budgeting Marketing

LOW BUDGET FILMS.

A low budget film is a motion picture shot on limited budget.
Young or unknown directors often make low budget films, due to lack of investment or lack of funding from studios, they do not get funded as people are not willing to invest in the film, as they feel that the film will be unsuccessful.
Kidulthood,
Witch Project,
Shank.
3 ^^ Films that have used low budget films.

HIGH BUDGET FILMS.

High budget marketing is mostly used when making and showing off there movie.

Films that used high budget marketing,

  1. Pirates of the Caribbean- At worlds end.
  2. Tangled.
  3. Spiderman 3.
  4. Avatar.
  5. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

My Blackberry Advert!

I done this in Media today and i am rather pleased with the turn out, obviously i used Photoshop to create this :D

Tuesday, 11 October 2011

My Idea for an Advert

  • If i was going to design an advert for a phone i would promote it lightness and great features like the camera and also on the point Internet Browsing.
  • I would most likely just have a bunch of celebrities talking on the phone to each other, like football stars and singers and actors because it will say even the best people use this product!
  • Ekul, will be the name of my Company and he product will be the 'Ekul 1' i chose this name just because it is my name spelled backwards
  • I will use bright and vibrant colours such as Yellow, red and also Orange, but mostly yellow because i feel that the colour yellow just yells 'BUY ME!'
  • My Target audience will be for people aged 26-65 because my product will be for mainly for the office working community just because of the features it will have like Email and on the point Internet Browsing.

Advert for Mobile Phone

The Product that is being advertised above is iPhone 3GS.
I can honestly say there is nothing i dislike about this advert, it draws me in and makes me want to buy this product.
The Unique selling point for this is that it is faster and thinner than the previous Iphone 3.
The target audience for this product would be an age group from 11+  because i think 11 is when a phone is key because that's when you grow up a bit and start secondary school. Also for the older generation it would be handy for quick emails instead of logging in to a work computer.

This Advert is, again, advertising the Iphone 3GS.
What i dislike about this advert is the background is a bit boring just a blue to light blue background.
I would say that the unique selling point for this is like the other IPhone ad but this also promotes the different memory for them like the 8GB and the 16GB.
This adverts target audience would be for again 11+ because of the same reasons but also this says to me that this product is for people who like on point browsing the internet.

Conventions of Adverts

What would you expect for an advert?:

  • Celebrity (Good looking people, Mostly)
  • The Product
  • The Name of this Product
  • Slogan
  • Colours that represent the mood of the product
  • For it to draw you in

Analyzing Clever Adverts

  • How can you tell who the target audience is? (age, gender, interests etc)

You can tell the target audience is for Adults because it says "Need to looses a little weight before your wedding?" and you don't see a 8 year old getting married. Also children don't really need to loose weight unless there are mortally obese.

  • What is the “unique selling point” of the product making you DESIRE this product (ie why should you buy THIS product)

It makes you want to buy it because, The name is 'Slim Fast' and also it makes me think if you slim down your going to get married.

  • Why would an audience like this advert or be "interested" by it?

An audience would be interested by it because it makes the 'Thought' of getting married a good thing, also you will get married if you use this Product.

  • What do the colours in the advert signify? (about the product, company or audience)

The colours make the advert look happy and a good advert because of it's bright background also it makes this advert look holy with the different colours and contrasts.

Wayne Rooney Photoshop/Lucozade Advert

TO THIS!!

To do this I followed many steps from my Media Teacher at www.cbscgcsemedialessons.blogspot.org.
I used alot of things to do this like the Pen Tool to cut him out, then pasted the backgrounds into i, then merging and lighting. it all gets completed unless you have Miss Germaine's easy step guide to Photoshop :)

What I did in Media (Photoshop)

Before:

After:

I got rid of the wrinkles by using the Patch Tool and just drew around the wrinkles and moved that wrinkled area to another area of clear skin. I learnt how to do it by our teacher showing a demonstration

WOMEN ON MARS!!!

This is my Media Photoshop work for today. As you can see it is a women crouching on mars, this is not possible now because we do not understand the qualities of mars.

Anyways i done this by using a pencil tool and then using the paths tool to cut her out. Then we pasted a random picture from the internet and made it look like she was crouching on the moon.

Smart People in The Media.

Introduction:

Over the years smart people in the media are viewed as nerdy little people with glasses. When most of the time this is not true in real life. I know loads of people who are my friends that are not kids with glasses.

Film:
Harry Potter is perfect example because if harry potter just came out and and he wasn't wearing glasses and was wearing a tracksuit, with blond hair. You would think this wasn't a film about wands and wizards.

This picture shows him writing down, signifying he is obsessed with work. Also it shows him alone, again signifying he is obsessed with work and there's no time for friends.

This Milhouse from the Simpsons,This Picture shows him at his weakest, were people always think he is the weakest. It shows that people will think that he is scared as everything.

Television:
This is Tamwar Masood from the very popular TV program Eastenders. He is represented as a nerd,  see how they didnt get a actor with a Six pack or perfect facial features, no they chose the one with glasses...

For license fees:
I think it is good that we have license fees because if we didnt we would not be able to watch and listen to the latest media is.

Against license fees:
We shouldn't have them because it costs money and some people don't have the money.
